Self Reflection

Discovering that I can do what I want, when I want, how I want. I just need to show all my tests, experiments and progress.

I found so many ways that I could express drawing, through pin hole camera, dry point printing and 3D work. I just always thought that I had to show it to my sketchbook and felt restricted to doing so, after tutorials and group crits’ and one to ones I found my own intentions of bigger, abstract careless work does the job (if I do it right!). Learning from this I have moved on to more experiments to progress me to a point I create more. Meaning the more flat 2D tests I made and gathered, I now feel I can compose using these starting points (2D tests) together to create new experiments which show progress of transformation.

From this I have moved away from the sketchbook and back to scrap work and 3D ideas. Doing this created is larger amount of work to show and more to work from and progress to generate new happenings. Its an organized chaos that works for me. Showing that not all tests and ideas work but being able to combine several images has helped finding the good in what I thought didn’t work. I also think having all these experiments around me have boosted my confidence on to create more and keep findings the positives.

Although I know there is plenty more to work to generate, I definitely feel I have found my path of working again. And again although I have finally got the jest of working in a sketchbook I now feel the two working techniques can now be both positives and no longer hold me back! Looking at the two elements as separates that find themselves together towards the end works for me.
